HSR bus operator test: how to prepare

What HSR asks for

Applicants need a valid Ontario class G driver’s licence with a point-free driving record for the three years before application and hire. (source)
Bus operators must be able to obtain and keep a class C–Z Ontario licence, and must upgrade to class C–Z to secure permanent, full-time status. (source)
New hires receive six weeks of paid, on-the-job training. (source)
Two to three years of commercial driving experience is preferred; previous transit bus driving is an asset. (source)

What to practise

Bus operator written tests usually check three skills: reading a route map, knowing traffic signs (see the Official MTO Driver’s Handbook: signs), and knowing where major Hamilton landmarks are.
