LTC bus operator test: how to prepare

What LTC asks for

Applicants need an A, B, C or D class Ontario driver’s licence (B or C preferred); an upgrade to the mandatory C licence is provided if needed. (source)
An air brake (Z) endorsement is required. (source)
Applicants need Grade 12 or equivalent, a safe driving record with zero points, and familiarity with the City of London. (source)
Shifts are chosen by seniority, so new operators should expect weekends, evenings, nights, holidays and some split shifts. (source)

What to practise

Bus operator written tests usually check three skills: reading a route map, knowing traffic signs (see the Official MTO Driver’s Handbook: signs), and knowing where major London landmarks are.
