MiWay bus operator test: how to prepare

What MiWay asks for

• MiWay looks for applicants with a valid G licence and a clean driving record, and provides full training, so no bus driving experience is needed. (source)
• G class applicants upload a 3-year uncertified driver record from ServiceOntario, dated within 28 days, showing 0 demerit points, no more than 1 infraction and no licence suspension or revocation. (source)
• The Transit Operator Skills Test assesses customer service skills, MiWay knowledge, the rules of the road (up to a G class licence) and written comprehension. (source)
• A conditional job offer depends on a Level 3 Vulnerable Sector Screening (at the applicant’s expense) and on obtaining a Ministry of Transportation CZ licence during training. (source)

What to practise

Bus operator written tests usually check three skills: reading a route map, knowing traffic signs (see the Official MTO Driver’s Handbook: signs), and knowing where major Mississauga landmarks are.
